According to the Hindu calendar, Radha Rani's birthday is celebrated 15 days after Krishna's birth. Although Radha Rani is not Krishna's consort. But Radha Rani is always remembered as Krishna's girlfriend. It is believed that worship of Krishna remains incomplete without Radha. In this case, if you worship Lord Krishna on Krishna's birthday, you must worship Radha Rani on Radha Ashtami, because by worshiping Radhaji, Krishna is pleased and fulfills every wish of his devotees. Lord Krishna's heart Radhaji was born on the eighth day of Shuklapaksha in the month of Bhadrapada. Hence it is known as Radha Ashtami. This time the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapad month starts from 03 September 12.25 PM and will end at 10.40 AM on 4 September. Uday Tithi is a public festival in Hinduism. So this Radha Ashtami will be celebrated on September 04. The auspicious time for worship on this day is from 04.36 am to 5.2 am.


On the morning of Radha Ashtami take a bath and wear clean clothes. Then place the idol of Radhaji in a copper vessel in the puja room. To worship Radha Rani, place water in a copper pitcher in front of the idol. Then offer vermilion, kumkum, rice, flowers, incense and lamps as per rules. Worshiping Banke Bihari along with Radha Rani on this day is considered very beneficial.


Significance of Radha Ashtami




According to religious beliefs, worship of Lord Krishna is considered incomplete without Radha. Lord Krishna's beloved Radhika was born in the Shuklapaksha month of Bhadrapada. Thus those who fast on Radha Ashtami and worship Lord Krishna along with Radha Rani on this day, get special blessings of Lord Krishna. It is believed that married couples who fast on Radha Ashtami and worship them according to the rules, always have happiness in their lives and always have love between husband and wife.
